Four years ago, my husband was laid off the first time 3 weeks after we closed on our home…we’ve been struggling to keep it and try to sell it ever since.  During the last four years we have had our custom home on the market off and on, I had a baby and my husband found employment again although not making as much money.  We’ve been trying to downsize so I could be a stay at home mom but we haven’t been able to sell our home.  We have a terrible interest only first mortgage and took out a second mortgage to cover our expenses when my husband was laid off and looking for work.
